Westonbirt, The National Arboretum

Westonbirt Arboretum is home to 2,500 different tree species from all over the world, and is also host to five national tree collections! It’s the perfect place to visit for a spot of relaxation amidst the glorious setting of The Cotswolds.

The best time to visit Westonbirt Arboretum is during October to the middle of November. During this time, the trees are eye-catching shades of orange, yellow and red. The perfect, Autumnal outing!

You don’t have to book in advance to come to Westonbirt Arboretum, unless you’re intending to come during key dates! You do have to buy tickets and arrive during a 20-minute slot, however, children under the age of five can come for free.

There are ample activities to enjoy at the national arboretum, such as an array of scenic walks. These include guided walks for expert volunteers and walks along the treetop walkway.

Children will especially be able to have a ball here, thanks to the range of scooters and bikes available for hire, the Gruffalo Sculpture Walk and a natural play area.

The arboretum is also accessible, offering level access in many areas as well as hire-able mobility scooters for those who require them.

Dogs are welcome at Westonbirt Arboretum, as long as they’re on a lead. If your pooch is well-behaved, they can enjoy exploring the Silk Wood off lead!

There are plenty events to enjoy at Westonbirt, too. Christmas events, themed walks, charcoal barbecue days and family activity days are a few options.

Enjoy a memorable outing at this amazing outdoor space…
