Royal Cambrian Academy of Art
Formed in 1881 and constituted by Queen Victoria in 1882, the Royal Cambrian Academy of Art is based in Conwy. Here Welsh artists and art is celebrated with exhibitions and workshops.
The academy moved from Plas Mawr to its permanent home, a former chapel. In order, the finance the move, many of the earlier members’ pieces were sold and only a handful remain in the permanent collection and can be seen by guests today.
Art lovers can rest assured that there’s still plenty to see, with nine exhibitions happening every year at the academy.
