Sandringham
Set within the Norfolk Coast AONB and surrounded by 20,000 acres of parkland, woodland, gardens, and farmland, is the grand Sandringham Estate. The estate is renowned for its historic royal links and is still used today by the British Royal Family for their Christmas celebrations or as a country retreat.
The residence was built by King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra and boasts a Jacobean style exterior, with gables and prominent chimneys. Whilst the gardens were carefully curated and landscaped by Geoffrey Jelicoe and features a vast Royal Parkland, a children’s play area, and a lovely courtyard.
You can enjoy a tour of the eight ground floor rooms, which remain as they were in Edwardian times, as well as the Sandringham House Museum, which includes a range of transport used by the royal family over many years, from vintage cars to intricate carriages.
During your visit, be sure to make the most of the gardens which have beautiful areas which are open to the public. Within the grounds you can also visit the fascinating St Mary Magdalene Church, which is still used today by the Royal Family.
The Sandrigham Estate welcomes four-legged friend into its Royal Parkland area, which is open all year round, and offers two way-marked trails where you can explore further.
