Travel to Cirencester by road
Cirencester is relatively easy to access by road, no matter where you’re coming from, thanks to its location relatively close to the M5 motorway.
To reach the town, leave the motorway at junction 11A (signed for Gloucester) but drive away from Gloucester itself. You’ll pick up signs for Cirencester and find yourself in the town within about 15 minutes of leaving the motorway.
If you’re new to the area, we’d recommend that you spend a few minutes planning your route before you leave home, just in case there are any roadworks or other issues.

Getting the train to Cirencester
The nearest train station to Cirencester is in Kemble, approximately five miles from the town.
Trains to Cirencester come from Stroud, Gloucester and Swindon, where you can change for trains towards London Paddington, Reading and Bristol.
There are also three direct services a day coming from London. The easiest way from Kemble to Cirencester is by taxi.
