Eyam is a fantastic tourist destination in the UK, with an array of attractions to visit and things to do throughout the year.

While touring the beautiful Peak District, make sure to take some time to explore all of the top things to do in Eyam. The small village is well-known for its historic links to the bubonic plague, the story of which is exhibited in the interesting Eyam Plague Museum and at a display in the St Lawrence Church. There are a number of outdoor attractions in Eyam, such as the Riley Graves, another poignant reminder of the village’s past, or the nearby gritstone escarpment, Stanage Edge, which is a popular spot for hikers and rock climbers.

    In 1665 the Bubonic Plague arrived at the village of Eyam and instead of fleeing and spreading the disease, the villagers took the selfless decision to cut themselves off from the outside world, the museum honours their sacrifice as well as showing how the village has prospered in the years since.

  • St Lawrence Church

    Eyam Parish Church Church Street Eyam Hope Valley S32 5QH

    This historic building has been a place of worship since the 13th century, with interesting displays. Norman pillars are visible at the north aisle’s west end, as well as a Norman window.
