Our Bakewell Travel Guide includes… Places to stay, things to do and how to get to Bakewell
Bakewell is a small yet picturesque market town perhaps most known for its tasty confectionery item, the Bakewell tart. Created by a baker in the 19th century by accident, it has now gone onto become one of Britain’s most loved treats. Also find a wide range of things to do in Bakewell, making your visit one to remember.
Bakewell is located on the River Wye, where visitors can wander by the riverside and take in the beautiful scenery or participate in fly fishing (with a permit). The town is home to a collection of independent shops situated on a pretty array of narrow streets and courtyards. There is also a farmers’ market held every month, bringing the whole town together to celebrate all the local produce.
Bakewell is in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales close to all of the exciting attractions the Peak District has to offer.
