The first thing to do in Conwy is visit the majestic castle that was built by Edward I. Today, the feat of architecture is a UNESCO Heritage Site and is considered one of the finest examples of 13th-century military architecture in Europe.
Once you have taken in the history of the castle, take to the town walls. Today, the town walls are considered an iconic Conwy attraction, however, they were built by Edward I as a medieval defensive structure. A personal favourite thing to do in Conwy is to head to the marina and quay. Here, you can simply sit and watch the boat bob at anchor with a plate of fish and chips in hand, or head to the Liverpool Arms for a drink in the sunshine.
Along the quay, you will find a number of Conwy attractions, including The Smallest House in Great Britain, the RNLI boathouse and opportunities for boat trips! Most rides take you on a leisurely tour down the river, where you can photograph the castle and take in the view of Llandudno and Puffin Island.
Another thing to do in Conwy includes visiting the Elizabethan townhouse, Plas Mawr. Standing in the town centre of Conwy, this magnificent townhouse offers an insight into how the wealthy merchant Robert Wynn lived during the Elizabethan era.
Alternatively, head to Conwy Morfa Beach, a dog-friendly haven with sandy shores and glistening waters. Conwy Bay is another perfect spot for a memorable day at the beach.
