Travel to County Clare by road
There are many motorways which lead to County Clare. If you’re driving from Northern Ireland, the M6 and M18 will lead you there, or if you’re travelling from Dublin you can take the M7 across Irish countryside.

Travel to County Clare by train
There are a few train stations which run through the centre of County Clare, including Ennis and Gort. Limerick train station lies just beneath the border of County Clare, with strong rail connections from Dublin.

Travel to County Clare by ferry
If you’re travelling from the mainland UK and fancy sailing across the Irish Sea, there are many places where you can catch a ferry, such as Liverpool in England and Fishguard and Pembroke in Wales.

Travel to County Clare by plane
If you’re looking for a quick journey across to Ireland, then catching a plane to Belfast or Dublin are both good options. Most major UK airports offer flights to both capitals, including Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds.
It is possible to get a flight to Shannon Airport, which lies on the southern border of County Clare, although most flights from the mainland UK will require you to change at another airport, making the journey substantially longer.
