Travel to Holmfirth by road
Visitors travelling to Holmfirth by car from the South of England or London will need to take the M1 as far as Barnsley and then take the A628 followed by the A601 until they reach Holmfirth. Those travelling from the West, or from Manchester, should take the scenic route which involves driving along the A628 followed by the A6024, taking you straight through the heart of the Peak District.

Travel to Holmfirth by train
There is no train station in Holmfirth, so rail travel involves getting a bus to make the final leg. Those travelling from London can get a train to Manchester and another to Huddersfield where they can board a bus, alternatively visitors from London can get a train to Wakefield and board a local bus there to reach Holmfirth. Train/bus travel from London to Holmfirth takes around three and a half hours.

You are able to fly to Holmfirth via Leeds-Bradford Airport from many locations around the UK and Ireland. Those travelling from certain cities such as Southampton, Belfast or Aberdeen may well find that flying to Holmfirth via Leeds-Bradford Airport is a faster and more convenient option.
