Travelling to Kendal by rail
The railways through the Lake District are amongst the most scenic in England, making arriving in Kendal a great experience. Kendal is on a branch line from Oxenholme Lake District station, where it is possible to connect with regular West Coast Main Line services some major UK cities.
There are a small number of direct trains from Kendal to Manchester each day, but these are little faster than changing at Oxenholme. It’s worth double checking before making plans to travel just in case any engineering works are planned.
