Travel to Llangollen by road
If you’re travelling from the South of England or the Midlands, take either the M40, M5 or M1 to Birmingham. Then take the M54 followed by the A5 all the way to Llangollen.
Those driving from the North of England should take the M56 to Chester and then the A483 and A5 to Llangollen.

The nearest railway station to Llangollen is Chirk, a 15-minute drive away. Getting a train to Chirk from London involves a change at Birmingham and takes around three hours. Trains also arrive directly from Chester.

Travel to Llangollen by plane
Travelling to Llangollen by air is sometimes an easier journey. The nearest airport is Liverpool John Lennon Airport, connecting with airports in Northern Ireland and Ireland. Those travelling from Ireland can also get a ferry to either Holyhead or Liverpool.
