Matlock can be easily accessed via train on an hourly basis from Nottingham and Derby. Train enthusiasts can also enjoy the delights of travelling on a steam train through Derbyshire countryside on the Peak Rail, which you can catch from Matlock train station.

Travel to Matlock by plane
For a faster journey to the edge of the Peak District, travellers can consider catching a plane. East Midlands Airport is just off the M1, so there is the option to hire a car or catch a train from the airport to Derby, then to Matlock.
Alternatively, Manchester Airport is just less than an hour and 30-minute drive away, so you can start off your holiday with a drive through the Peak District.
