Travel to Newby Bridge by road
Newby Bridge is 15 miles from the M6 motorway, making access easy from many of the UK’s major cities.
Leave the M6 at Junction 36 and follow the A590 for around 15 miles. The road goes right through Newby Bridge.
Within around 20 minutes of leaving the motorway, you will have arrived and will be ready to start your holiday.
Don’t forget to plan your trip before you leave in case of any unexpected issues. We’d recommend taking a look at the AA Route Planner for this.
Travelling to Newby Bridge by train
Newby Bridge does have a train station, a small heritage railway with an erratic service.
The nearest National Rail station is at Oxenholme, but you’ll be faced with a lengthy and expensive taxi ride after this.
One other option is to take the train to Kendal and connect with bus X6 towards Barrow-in-Furness. This is a slow but beautiful way of arriving at Newby Bridge.
Be sure to take a look at virgintrains.co.uk when planning your journey in case of any engineering works.
