Travel to Ryde by ferry
If you are travelling to Ryde from the UK mainland, you will need to take a ferry from Portsmouth. Wightlink operates 26 daily ferries to Fishbourne for car and foot passengers, with a journey time of just 45 minutes. There is also a direct ferry from Portsmouth to Ryde for foot passengers only.

Travel to Ryde by road
From the North of England, take the M6, followed by the M40 and A34. When you reach Winchester, take the M3 to Southampton before taking the M27 and M275 to Portsmouth.
From the ferry terminal in Fishbourne, there is a short drive along the A3054 to Ryde.

Travel to Ryde by train and hovercraft
Regular trains run from London Waterloo to Portsmouth & Southsea railway station. From here, you can take the Hoverbus link to the Southsea Hoverport terminal, offering a 10-minute hovercraft to Ryde. This is one of the fastest and most exciting ways to get to Ryde.

Travel to Ryde by plane
Getting to Ryde by plane is difficult, since there is no functioning airport on the Isle of Wight. You can fly to Southampton Airport, then take a train to Portsmouth for ferry links.
