Travel to Swanage by road
If you’re travelling to Swanage by car from the North or East via London, take the M3 motorway to Southampton. Then take the M27/A31 through the stunning New Forest and change to the A35 at Bere Regis, then take the A351 at Lytchett Minster all the way to Swanage.

Travel to Swanage by train
Train travel to Swanage from London is easy and takes just over three hours with a change at Wareham, taking in some beautiful landscapes. Train travel from other locations such as Wales or the South East can take longer due to a lack of connections and from these locations driving is often more convenient.

Travel to Swanage by plane or ferry
The nearest international airports to Swanage are Bristol and Heathrow, for those visiting from overseas. For those arriving from France or the Channel Islands, however, taking a ferry from St Malo to Poole or from Cherbourg/Le Harve to nearby Portsmouth is a more enjoyable and convenient option, which also means you can bring your car.
