Travel to Wirksworth by train and bus
Travelling by train and bus takes in some beautiful views of the Derbyshire Dales on the final leg. Most rail journeys, e.g from London or Birmingham, will involve a change at Derby to a local bus service. Alternatively, visitors can change at Derby to board a rail service to the nearby village of Whatsandwell and then get a taxi to Wirksworth from there. Thanks to the proximity of the M1 motorway, it’s often faster and more convenient to drive than to get a train to Wirksworth.
