Our Caernarfon Travel Guide includes… Places to stay, things to do and how to get to Caernarfon
The medieval town of Caernarfon is most recognised by its striking castle, towering over the coastal area. Wales’ most famous castle was the home of King Edward I in the 13th century, now a popular World Heritage Site.
Caernarfon’s pretty harbour contains an array of fishing and sailing boats, a pleasant spot to wander around. The town centre is lined with colourful buildings with plenty of places to shop, eat and drink.
Nearby is the mystical Gypsy Wood Park, a family-friendly attraction with charming woodlands mini railway. The GreenWood Forest Park was voted best family attraction in North Wales for the last seven years. This is another fun day out which includes a people-powered roller coaster.
