Alyn Waters Country Park
Alyn Waters Country Park is the biggest near Wrexham. It’s so beautiful that it’s been awarded the Green Flag Award.
It’s tucked away in the Alyn Valley, resting on either side of River Alyn. If you arrive via the Gwersyllt side, you’ll be happy to find ample parking. A visitor centre offering a shop, café and toilets also rests here.
The Llay side also offers a spacious car park, as well as a playground and access to a wonderful nature reserve.
The park itself boasts a plethora of riverside trails, along with trails veering into woodland and grassland areas. Why not bring a picnic along to enjoy during hikes through these outdoor spaces?
Alyn Waters Country Park also welcomes dogs, so you can enjoy taking your beloved pooch on a scenic hike. The shallow parts of the river are also ideal for a doggy paddle!
