Boggle Hole, Robin Hood’s Bay
Boggle Hole attraction can be found resting along the famous ‘Cleveland Way’, which was once a notorious smugglers’ haunt. Boggle Hole is an unusual curved-out hallow, due to weathering from the sea.
Its name originates from boggle – or goblin – which folk tale says are to haunt the cave’s slopes.
This Robin Hood’s Bay gem, whilst being home to a wealth of fascinating history, is a great place for wild swimming! Here, you can look forward to a cool dip while soaking up coastal views.
You can reach Boggle Hole by car, however, its better to walk due to close-by road being narrow. In fact, there’s a trail you can follow to reach the hallow: the Robin Hood’s Bay to Boggle Hole walk. This cliff-top hike offers even more sweeping views over North Yorkshire’s glorious coast!
