In May 2018, Bude Tunnel was added to TripAdvisor as a joke but the 70m Perspex tube attached to the edge of a Sainsbury’s store climbed the ratings in the local area and became an inside joke for locals and tourists alike.

Residents used the popularity and press to create postcards for visitors to buy and contribute to the running of Bude Sea Pool, plus the tunnel is also decorated with lights at Christmas.
