Chevron Folds
While Millook Haven may not be a great sandy spot for days spent sunbathing, it is home to a fascinating natural phenomenon: the chevron folds. The zigzag or chevron style shapes here were formed when the strongly layered rocks buckled or folded.
The folding happened at the end of the Carboniferous period 320 million years ago when two continents collided.
