Chysauster Ancient Village
Visitors can explore the remains of Chysauster Ancient Village and get a sense of how people lived in the Iron Age.
The people of Chysauster were farmers growing cereal crops in the surrounding fields and were highly likely to have kept pigs and goats during their 200-year stay at the settlement.
Visitors can also explore the remains of an enigmatic ‘fogou’ underground passage and decide whether it was used for rituals, as a hiding place or a cold store. Set on the hillside, the settlement boasts stunning views across the countryside and out to sea.
Chysauster Ancient Village promises a fun-filled afternoon…
