Countess of Chester Country Park
The Countess of Chester Country Park is a beautiful green space resting on the edges of Chester. It’s a wonderful walking spot and offers a wealth of bird watching opportunities.
After parking in the nearby hospital’s car park, head into the country park to be greeted by a patch of woodland and adjacent wetlands. Here the great spotted woodpecker ca be seen.
Afterwards, make your way to the grazing marsh where vibrant butterfliers, herons, kingfishers and kestrels await. During your visit be sure to keep an eye out for the five totem poles dotted about the park!
After walking for a while, be sure to enjoy an alfresco lunch on the grass. Alternatively, head to the nearby hospital’s café for a bite to eat.
You’ll be pleased to know that dogs are welcome at the park; please keep them on leads at all times!
