Edinburgh Zoo
Edinburgh Zoo sprawls across the southern slopes of Corstorphine Hill, in the middle of the city. The zoo is a very popular attraction, receiving over 600,000 visitors each year, and it’s easy to see why!
There are many species of animals found throughout the park, including mammals, birds, and fish. The giant pandas are a highlight; you can often spot the cheeky panda, Yang Guang, munching on bamboo sticks!
Another highlight must be Penguins Rock, Europe’s largest outdoor penguin pool. This part of the zoo is home to over 100 penguins, and you can watch them sunbathe and slide around their home.
Edinburgh Zoo is also home to a range of experiences, making your visit a memorable one. The Keeper Experiences are worth partaking in, where you can get up close to several animals with the help of the park’s staff.
The zoo’s gardens are a must-see during your visit, where you can stroll through greenhouses and vibrant flora. Afterwards, be sure to stop at one of the kiosks or restaurants for a tasty treat!
If you’re visiting with children, then Dinosaurs! at Edinburgh Zoo, it is worth experiencing. This family-friendly trail takes you past signage explaining the zoo’s prehistoric ties, as well as several dinosaur sculptures.
