Exmoor Zoo

Exmoor Zoo came to be when it took over the Bird Gardens in April 1993. It’s a marvellous attraction run by the Reynolds family, who continually renovate and update the park.

Exmoor Zoo attracts a wealth of visitors every year, thanks to its array of fascinating animals and things to do! The zoo is best known for housing The “Exmoor Beast”, the last black leopard in the UK.

A variety of mammals, such as the African wild dog and squirrel monkey, birds, such as the blue-throated macaw, and reptiles, including the corn snake wait. Don’t forget to see the amphibians and anthropods, with the intriguing poison frogs taking centre stage!

There are plenty of seasonal activities to partake in at the zoo, too. Animal encounters and specialist talks are a couple of the experiences available here.

You can also take your visit at Exmoor Zoo further by signing up to be a zoo keeper for the day! This experience is open to those aged 16 years and over, and gives you the chance to meet and learn about rare animals up close.

Come to Exmoor Zoo for a magnificent day out…
