Glenridding to Lanty’s Tarn
Start the walk at Glenridding car park. The car park is situated around halfway through the town and is clearly signposted. Exit the car park and turn right to cross the bridge over the Glenridding Beck. Turn right at the other side of the bridge and join the road signposted for Helvellyn.
Keep following the track past the shops and out of the village. It gradually ascends and follows the beck. The track ends at a stone cottage and just before the cottage, there is a turning on the left. Take the turning and cross the small bridge and go through the gate.
Once through the gate, turn right. Follow the path up the fellside through the woodland. The path ends at another gate. Go through the gate and turn right. Follow the path up the fell. The track will lead you to a farm wall and turn sharply left up the fell. There is a bench at the top for breaks.
Keep going past the bench and the path will begin to descend. You will come to two gates, take the right-hand gate. Beyond the gate, you will find Lanty’s Tarn. Retrace your steps to return to Glenridding.
