Holker Hall and Gardens
Head to this busy and diverse estate in south Lakeland. Covering 17,000 acres including 200 acres of parkland that is grazed by a herd of fallow deer, nature lovers will adore Holker Hall & Gardens. The estate also includes Sites of Special Scientific Interest and National Nature Reserves and works to protect the habitats that support the rare plant species and abundant wildlife.
The house is also open to guests and each of the rooms displays evidence of the updates of the generations that have lived here. From the carved wood staircase to the impressive stone fireplace in the main hall, there are plenty of features for guests to explore.
The Courtyard Café provides the perfect setting to relax and refresh after exploring the house and grounds. The afternoon tea is the highlight of the menu and the perfect reward after some walking and exploring.
