Home Front Museum
Housed in a mid-19th century garage that was operated during the Second World War by the Auxiliary Fire Service, Home Front Museum is a fascinating place.
The garage was owned by Frank Meredith, whose son, Francis, was killed in 1942 serving with the 69th Medium Regiment, Royal Artillery. He is remembered on the town’s war memorial.
The garage changed hands a number of times and was acquired in 1999 to house this unique WWII collection.
Today, you can discover how the war was won on the ‘kitchen front’ and view everything from gas masks to ration books and dig for victory signs. Plus, you can browse the shop for gifts to take home.
Home Front Museum is a superb attraction in Wales…
