Kinmel Bay Beach (Sandy Cove)
Kinmel Bay Beach, also known as Sandy Cove, lies on the west side of the River Clwyd across the estuary from popular resort, Rhyl. Summer visitors flock to Kinmel Bay every year thanks to the large carpark, toilets and beach kiosk that make it the perfect place to set up for the day.
Those that do spend the day here are in with a chance of spotting grey seals bobbing in the water as well as skylarks, kestrel and a variety of wading birds. Kinmel Dunes Nature Reserve is just a stone’s throw from the beach and provides a habitat for sea holly, rest harrow and bird’s foot trefoil.
Kinmel Bay is also the perfect beach for those looking to get active. The bay is ideal for swimming as well as sea canoeing and windsurfing.
Dogs are not allowed on the beach during the summer months.
Kinmel Bay Beach makes for a wonderful outing for all ages…
