Llyn Tegid
Come to the largest lake in Wales and immerse yourself in the breath-taking scenery of the Snowdonia National Park. Llyn Tegid is also known as Bala Lake as it rests to the southwest of the town of Bala and is between the mountains of Berwyn, Aran and Arenig.
Llyn Tegid is a popular thing to do in Snowdonia with ample outdoor activities to get involved with. Some come to try their hand at an array of watersports, including a leisurely boat trip on the foreshore, kayaking and canoeing at your own pace or navigating the waters on your own sailing boat. There are many ways to enjoy the water of Llyn Tegid!
Alternatively, stay on land to admire the tranquil ambience of the lake with a stroll along the water. Uncover the myths and legends surrounding the lake as you go. Keep your cameras close in case you spot the monster, known affectionately as ‘Teggie’.
It is also claimed that on moonlit evenings, buildings of a sunken village are visible through the water!
