Lodge Park and Sherborne Estate
Lodge Park and Sherborne Estate is a 17th-century Grandstand within a country estate that’s packed with wildlife. It came to be when it was built by John ‘Crump’ Dutton.
Over the years the estate fell into ruin and subsequently became the National Trust’s first-ever restoration project in 1998. Nowadays, it’s a working estate offering plenty to experience.
Lodge Park itself is only accessible for pre-booked sessions during selected weekends, however, Sherborne Estate is open all year round.
A walk through the estate is a must, with three major trails available, including the Short Woodland Stroll, Family Fun Walk and Historic Farmland Hike. All walks begin at Ewe Pen Barn.
You’ll see a wealth of wildlife on these hikes, such as roe deer, foxes, badgers and fallow.
Don’t forget to try the Sculpture Trail in the pleasure grounds too! Afterwards, be sure to explore the beautiful, 18th-cenutry water meadows.
A day of beauty awaits at the Lodge Park and Sherborne Estate…
