Lôn Las Ogwen
Begin at Porth Penrhyn with the Menai Strait stretching out ahead. From here follow the railway path through mature woodland alongside the River Cegin and through the village of Tregarth.
Here you may wish to stop at the pub to refuel for the exertion ahead. Continue on to Penrhyn Quarry where there are views of the Snowdonia mountains ahead.
The quarry here was started in 1770 and the railway that served it was constructed between 1870 and 1879. From here walk along the banks of the River Ogwen and on to the final few miles where you’ll find magnificent views of the Carneddau and Glyderau mountain ranges.
End in the shadows of the slopes of Tryfan and spot wild mountain goats nearby.
Lôn Las Ogwen is a superb thing to do in Wales…
