The Lulworth Cove to Durdle Door and Ringstead Bay walk is a superb walking route to take whilst exploring the Dorset area.    

You will pass by the scenic Durdle Door Beach, as well as Durdle Door itself, before returning via Lulworth Cove to round off your adventure for the day. 

There are some rough, steep sections on this route and no refreshment stations, so bear this in mind when packing for your travels and make sure you have appropriate footwear.

Directions

  1. Head west from the car park along the Lulworth steps and then continue the South West Coast Path to the right.
  2. Enjoy this elevated pathway that overlooks Man O’ War and Durdle Door, before continuing along the coast. 
  3. You will briefly approach the shoreline before climbing uphill to reach the viewpoint at White Nothe (to this point is roughly 3.5 miles). 
  4. This overlooks Ringstead Bay to the west, and once you have taken in the views, head back east along the trail that leads downhill towards the water’s edge. 
  5. Once you reach Bat’s Head, continue on the path to the east and pass by Durdle Door Beach and Durdle Door. 
  6. Climb back up the cliffside from here and return to Lulworth Cove.
