Menabilly Beach
Daphne du Maurier rented Menabilly house and the beach with it in 1943 on a 20-year lease. Both the house and beach are thought to be the inspiration for Manderley, the famous setting for her novel Rebecca.
The dog-friendly beach, also known as Polridmouth Cove, is a small and sandy cove accessed via a footpath just 10 minutes from Hamblands carpark. The surrounding headland offers stunning views out across to St Austell Bay.
