Moel Hiraddug
The fort has a steep slope on the western side which would have helped with defences, while the eastern side sits on a gentler slope which would have required the fort to have walls and ditches.
Much of the north end of the hill fort, including the gateway, has been destroyed. While the hill fort may not remain in its entirety, the walk to it is still more than worthwhile.
From the hilltop, you can enjoy incredible views out to sea as well as views of the spectacular Snowdonia Mountain range.
The walk from Rhyl high street to the top of the hill is around 1.2 miles and the steeper areas can be slippery.
Moel Hiraddug offers a superb walk in Wales…
