Nant y Coed Local Nature Reserve
Nant y Coed Local Nature Reserve is a year-round delight thanks to the array of wildlife that thrives here at different times of the year.
In spring, the wood is carpeted in bluebells and wood anemones while in summer sessile oak trees are in full leaf and teeming with birds.
Foxgloves cover the riverbank, providing a fantastic nectar source for bumblebees. Autumn is the best time to see a variety of fungi and in winter the river is in full flow.
Facilities here include timber decking and a bench perfect for picnicking next to the wildlife pond. Llanfairfechan, just a stone’s throw away, is where shops, cafes and public toilets can be found.
Nant y Coed Local Nature Reserve promises to be a superb day out…
