Paxton House is a neo-Palladian Georgian mansion built in 1758 by John and James Adam. This large country mansion features Chippendale and Regency furniture by William Trotter of Edinburgh and houses around 70 artworks from the National Galleries of Scotland.

Enjoy popular trails on the grounds, including the Fairy Trail and the Woodland Trail. Between April and October, there are boat cruises down the river, a croquet lawn, a 9-hole putting green, picnic spots, two adventure play parks, and numerous children’s home and grounds competitions, nature paths, and activities.
With the Georgian Kitchen, Regency Gift Shop, Stables Restaurant, fishing museum, and an ever-changing event and exhibition schedule, Paxton House is a terrific family day out in the Scottish Borders.
