Plumpton Rocks

Against the background of wind-eroded cliffs, the Grade II-listed Plumpton Rocks are home to a man-made lake and pleasure gardens.

The park’s 30 acres are home to a plethora of attractions, from peaceful lakeside strolls to stunning Millstone Grit rock formations with names like Lion’s Den, Lover’s Leap, and Needle’s Eye, and from open fields of bluebells and rhododendrons to meandering paths through the woods.

The vantage point on the dam near the lake’s outflow in the south, looking north, has miraculously been preserved.
