River Dee
No visit to Chester is complete without wandering or sailing along the 70-mile delight of the River Dee! The scenic river flows through the southern part of the city towards Snowdonia, and is the perfect place to visit, all year around.
During the summer, River Dee offers the perfect backdrop for a walk, with a wealth of benches peppered along its banks alongside ice cream kiosks and access to boating experiences. A must-try experience is ChesterBoat; why not come aboard?
During the chillier parts of the year, enjoy a refreshing stroll along the water before venturing across the suspension bridge to the idyllic meadows. Alternatively, wander into one of the cosy eateries nestled on the riverside, including Hickory’s Smokehouse and The Boathouse.
The River Dee also enjoys access to public toilets, making a day out here a relatively accessible one.
A wonderful outing is waiting to be experienced here…
