Scadbury Park

Directions

1. From the car park head straight ahead to reach Post 1. Here you will see an oak tree. Continue downhill towards the second post to reach the pond.
2. Follow the wooden walkway, keeping an eye out for alder trees.
3. Continue along the dirt track to be surrounded by sycamore. Carry on past the yew trees to bring you to Post 5.
4. At Post 5, you will see a woodland to your right. Bear left to reach the next post.
5. Post 6 leads you to an avenue of ancient yew trees to the left. Follow the main path until you reach an old hazel tree.
6. Continue straight along the path.
7. Head past posts 9a and 9b, before reaching Post 10 where you should be able to hear parakeets!
8. Follow the path as it skirts around the pond. Turn left to the site of the moated manor.
9. Continue past the ruins of Scadbury Manor, keeping to the footpath.
10. Follow the path left at Post 12 to continue through the avenue of English oak trees. At the end of the path, turn right along the south side of the field to follow Post 13.
11. Head past the old fruit trees and towards the pond. Pass the barway to continue through the ancient woodland of Little Wood.
12. Follow to Post 15 and upon reaching the more open area, turn left with the boundary of Little Wood on your left.
13. Continue to find a meadow in front of you at Post 16, and then at Post 17 turn right to go uphill.
14. Cross the meadow to reach Post 18. Continue along the access road. Cross the private road towards the farm.
15. Follow along the route until you reach the last post, Post 20. Continue to return to the car park.
