Snowdon Mountain Railway
Visiting North Wales soon? If so, be sure to add the incredible Snowdon Moutain Railway to your things-to-do list!
You and your loved ones can enjoy the once in a lifetime journey on the Snowdon train, which departs from Llanberis Station and climbs up Yr Wyddfa, the highest mountain in Wales and England. It offers the opportunity to soak up breath-taking scenery of the national park at your leisure, often described as one of the most scenic railway journeys in the world!
After leaving Llanberis, the train crosses the Afon Hwch before emerging into the treeless countryside and where the first glimpse of Snowdon appears.
After here, you reach the Halfway Station where you can spot walks on the Llanberis Path to the right and admire views of Moel Cynghorion – the Mountain of Councillors.
Journey along the sheer edge of Rocky Valley, where on a clear day, the Llŷn Peninsula can be seen! In the spring, Clogwyn Station is as high as the trains can go, due to ice or snow on the tracks. However, during the summer months, the train can take you to the summit, where one of the world’s greatest panoramas is revealed.
Take the time to soak up the views and refuel at the Hafod Eryri, the UK’s highest visitor centre.
