The Flicka Foundation Donkey Sanctuary
The Flicka Foundation Donkey Sanctuary began in 1995, when the strawberry roan pony, Flicka was found abandoned in an industrial estate. Flicka’s rescued inspired the charity’s founder, Mary Berryman, and the Sanctuary was born!
Many more animals have been rescued since Flicka’s arrival, from donkeys to rabbits. The animals have seen all sorts of suffering and neglect, but the charity’s volunteers work incredibly hard to give them the life they deserve!
The Flicka Foundation Donkey Sanctuary welcomes the public throughout the year. So, you can come and see these wonderful animals up close!
During the summer, the donkeys and horses roam around the paddocks, so you can enjoy a scenic stroll and pay them a visit.
When winter comes around, the animals spend a lot of their time in the warm barns. However, you may still see a few unwinding outside.
After seeing the lovely animals, make your way to the Tray Bray’k tea room, where mouthwatering snacks are available 11am-4pm. Afterwards, why not buy a donkey-themed souvenir at the Gift Cabin?
