Located near Bassenthwaite, the Lakes Distillery not only creates spirits but also offers a visitor centre, shop, bar and bistro, in which visitors can sample the spirits and other local produce.
The Lakes Distillery
Take a tour of the distillery and see how they create the Lakes Malt, Lakes Gin and the award-winning Lakes Vodka. With Bassenthwaite Lake and the Lake District Wildlife Park nearby, this is a perfect spot for a fun-packed day out.
The distillery is housed in a quirky, refurbished model farm. The main barn holds the mash house and still house, with specially developed stills for small batch production, whilst old cow barns have been turned into a warehouse, shop, cafe, and bar.
A tasting room is available for customers to experience the distillery’s products whilst The Distillery’s Bistro serves tasty meals in a casual setting. The informal pub and cafe are run by nationally acclaimed chef and restaurateur Terry Laybourne.
