The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic
The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic began when Cecil Williamson, a witchcraft enthusiast, met Gerald Gardner, the founder of modern Wicca.
The museum opened in Bostcastle during the year of 1960, with the building resting moments away from the historic wonder of the Rocky Valley rock carvings. It began to fill up with fascinating artefacts and objects, with visitors coming from all over the globe to see these doodads!
During a visit to The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic, you will not only get to see these objects up close, but you’ll be transported into a witchy realm. The museum is packed with fascinating, life-size dioramas, including the Horned God of Wicca and a ‘cunning woman’.
The museum also plays host to an array of exhibitions, from those delving into rituals to those centred around magic in South America. A range of events also take place here, with past events including a straw crafts day and a ritual magic conference.
After viewing the marvellous selection of oddities, why not treat yourself to your very own from the on-site shop? Patches, guide books and merchandise are a few things you can find here.
Enjoy a mystical outing at The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic…
