Directions

  1. Starting with the New Inn on your left, walk west to pass the Wesleyan Chapel on your right. Continue down the road for half a mile, then turn right heading past Farbrook Farm.
  2. Continue between the two buildings and go through the metal gate. At the junction go through a second gate to the left and follow the path. Go over the stile and then cross over the stream via the bridge or stepping stones.
  3. Once over the stream, follow the trail signs to go up the steep bank.
  4. Carry on across the field and go through the stile taking you through a second field towards a farm. Keep the wall to your right and go through a small gate as you approach the farm.
  5. Follow down the drive towards the road, then turn left and continue for 300 metres.
  6. Reach a gate near another farm and pass through it. When the path forks, take the route on the right and continue for a quarter of a mile.
  7. Pass through a metal gate and continue towards the packhorse bridge at Three Shires Head.
  8. Head to the right of the packhorse bridge and pass through the metal gate and go along the rocky edge of the stream.
  9. When you reach the trail post, turn right, and go over the bridge. Continue uphill to reach Knotbury Edge Lane.
  10. At Knotbury Edge Lane, turn right and continue along the lane past the cottages, winding to the right. At the junction bear left.
  11. At the second junction, take the right to go over the stone bridge and ascend the moors. Follow the trail posts to reach the top of the hill. Continue on the path to the right of the rocks and head towards the corner of the wall.
  12. Go through the gate opening and continue along the walled track. Cross over the stile.
  13. At the marker, turn right and follow the wall on your right. Cross over another stile.
  14. At the junction take the left gate next to the waymarked post and keep left, crossing several fields and going over two stiles.
  15. Once you’ve passed some cottages on the left, go through the gate and take a left, going over another stile.
  16. Follow the track to return to the village, heading to the New Inn pub.
