Wild Ennerdale
Wild Ennerdale is a remote Cumbria valley that is home to a wealth of wildlife and offers visitors plenty of fantastic walking opportunities.
There are many routes up and down the high ridges which provide access to Lake District mountain peaks such as Pillar, Steeple and Great Gable. Bleach Green and Bowness Knott carparks offer great starting points for walks within the valley.
Along the way, walkers may spot red squirrels, otters, butterflies, deer, cattle, beavers, birds, fish and pine marten.
Wildlife is protected with the help of organisations such as the Ennerdale Community Red Squirrel Group, the RSPB, Butterfly Conservation, the Grazing Animals Project, The Deer Initiative and the Beaver Trust.
Wild Ennerdale is an excellent family day out…
