The location is perfect for exploring the area. The property is absolutely beautiful and the owners have clearly put a lot of thought and care into providing everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. It was a real home from home and we would definitely love to return for another stay. A special mention must also go to our lovely neighbour for the week, who went the extra mile to ensure we felt welcome and had everything we needed.

It has a lovely outside seating area and is a stones throw from the pub with its friendly staff and good food. The cottage is ideal for visiting the North York Moors and coastline, and for trips on the North Yorkshire Steam Railway. The station is a five minute drive or a lovely half hour to three quarters of an hour walk away depending on direction as it’s steep in places. The owners are most helpful and obliging.

It was ideal for the two of us. It would benefit from a shower in the second bathroom and occasional tables in the sitting room. Conventional chairs would be an improvement in the kitchen dining area.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at the Coach House."

the cottage was beautiful and had some lovely features and everything we needed, and and in a lovely setting. We certainly appreciated the Prosecco and other things left. It is the 1st time we had done a cottage holiday and we will certainly be doing it again. The cottage was very clean but your cleaning staff certainly missed a lot of the finer points.. as some things were very dusty. If we come to the area again we would certainly see if the Coach House was available. A really lovely stay and the Horseshoe Pub being a few yards away was an added bonus.

Lovely, spacious and well appointed cottage in a convenient position for walking, steam trains and the local pub. Useful to have the EV charger on site, although we didn't use the car that much as there are plenty of walks from the front door.

On arrival milk, tea, coffee and biscuits was appreciated. Heating was a little too warm for us and thermostat kept turning it back on. Bath and blinds in bathroom weren't cleaned to a high standard. Bed in larger room wasnt very comfortable. Overall the cottage itself was lovely, just in a location that we wouldn't have chosen (more research needed next time). Also parking was a bit tight and the garden was overlooked by neighbours property. Neighbours were very friendly. Appreciated monopoly board, son enjoyed this. The cottage has some lovely features, unfortunately for us we wouldn't visit again

We love the property and all the finishing touches which are to such a high standard. Our 2 year old son has had the best week looking at all the animals and exploring on all the walks we done, straight from The Coach House’s front door. We have all had a week of amazing sleeps in the comfortable beds at The Coach House which made the holiday for us. The Horseshoe Inn was a great pub to stop off for a drink after a nice walk, and we also had some lovely meals there when I wanted a night off from cooking, with the added bonus of a 30 second stumble home. 10/10 from us and we are already looking to book another week. We love it at The Coach House

The Boot room on entrance was perfect for casting off muddy boots and we made use of the oven on a couple of occasions. Really appreciated the bottle of wine , fresh milk and flowers. Very welcoming. Loved the look of the Aga but we weren't planning on cooking so we didn't try it out. Good shower upstairs and the bed was very comfortable. We really enjoyed having a smart television - great size - and the sofas in the spacious lounge were very comfortable. All in all everything was great. I did have to clean the shower before we used it and the bedding could do with being replaced. Apart from these criticisms , it was a most enjoyable holiday in a lovely village with a great pub/restaurant.

This property has been converted to a very high standard with top of the range equipment and fittings. The entrance/utility with boot bench and coat hanging space was very practical. The kitchen was a good size and well equipped (really liked the good supply of “herdy” mugs) but cooking on the two ring induction cooker in the utility room with no usable work surface was a chore. What we really missed was a kitchen cupboard for storing food and a decent shelf in the bathroom for toiletries. This is a really well presented cottage with lots of smart features, but the garden when we located it, was disappointing. If like me you are ready for a cup of tea at the end of your journey make sure to bring fresh milk with you, the welcome pack contains a few sticks of UHT milk and there are no shops close by.

Very spacious, well equipped and wished we could have stayed longer! The nearby pub serves good quality food and a trip on the nearby steam train is a must! However I have serious reservations about the Friday to Friday booking. It normally takes me a comfortable five and a half hours (on a Saturday) to get from home (Kent) to the North York Moors. This time on a Friday it took nearly eight hours to get there and the return almost as long. No accidents or breakdowns just pure volume of traffic. Please tell me why this trend of Friday to Friday has come about. I can see no benefit to the customer what so ever. In future bookings (we normally book a cottage twice a year) a Friday to Friday offering will only be booked as a last resort or not at all.
