  • "Despite the poor weather (it is Wales after all), we had a very comfortable stay at Glenoer."

Everything we needed was there. The hosts were both friendly and knowledgeable on the local area, with great suggestions of places to visit both nearby and a little further afield. One way or another we will definitely return.

  • "Lovely property, super setting Dynamic pricing is NOT in my opinion legal, this is something that Sykes need to address as a business you should not be advising Clients to support dynamic pricing."

Whilst I nipped my issues in the bud quickly January 2024 when I made the booking and yes we resolved it kindly thanks to the Owner, Sykes referred to T&Cs and then charged me I think 3 times approx £120 for date change and something else a few short days after confirming the booking, then discovering dynamic pricing there's definitely pause for thought and quite frankly refunding me the stupid admin charges all because I had discovered the dynamic pricing strategy!!!

Hosts Sue and Dave are lovely and have 2 dogs of their own, Kitty and Polly, plus 6 chickens that were right outside your secure garden. Pets are accepted and we took our elderly 21yr old siamese cat, Joy. The view out of the window was magnificent, with the stream, garden and fields, nice for walking near the sheep! The log burner is a bonus on cold evenings and the covered patio was excellent for rainy periods to still sit out. Would we go again, definitely, can't wait!

It was our first time here and certainly won’t be our last. Dave & Sue are the most perfect hosts in fact we felt they were actually friends by the end of the week. This delightful barn is everything you want in a cosy week away, nestled within the most beautiful scenery which actually took my breath away. We travelled around the area and took in some really pretty villages. The Black and white trail is very pretty, and of course Hay on Wye is a must. But if you don’t want to travel the Barn is perfect to just kick off your shoes, read a book or a walk around the beautiful gardens with hidden seating areas and hideaways. Just Perfect! Loved every minute. Thank you Sue & Dave see you soon xx

The grounds are ideal for walking your pet, (in our case a cat). One of the resident dogs seems to love cats and would sit quietly waiting to look at ours. The location is ideal for visiting lots of interesting places without having to travel too far. The owners are very friendly, available if you want them, but do not intrude. The delicious welcome hamper was very much appreciated.

.. the shower in the wet room did leak so the floor was always wet so you couldn't wear socks in there which was a slip hazard.... Lots of animal mess outside not from our dog but from other dogs and animals which we either had to pick up or risk stepping in when going outside and throw it into the stream!! We think these things should be addressed as the barn is not a cheap place to stay

We were provided with a wonderful welcome hamper on arrival, including home baked bread and freshly laid eggs by the Glanoer girls (their own chickens)! I especially liked the fact everything was locally sourced and the milk was supplied in a glass bottle not a plastic carton. I hate plastic milk cartons!! The barn was extremely clean and the bed linen and towels smelt gorgeous. The owners also allowed us to freely use their land to exercise our dogs which was amazing. The dogs absolutely loved it. We were also given a bag of dog treats and access to towels, leads, toys, wipes and even hi-viz dog coats and collars! So thoroughly thought out and greatly appreciated. It was so peaceful with the sound of the stream and the birds….we even saw a woodpecker! It was a great place to retreat to especially when having a busy Manchester life! Plenty of places for walking and observing wildlife. Elan Valley near Rhayader is recommended. Further out Powis Castle and gardens are amazing (near Welshpool). Lovely walks by the river Wye at Builth Wells are also great. There is so much to do and see in the area a week will fly by. If you don’t want to travel every day, relaxing on the patio with a BBQ watching the many species of birds on the feeders is a great way to relax and recharge your batteries.

  • "Amazing accommodation!"

The Barn at Glanoer ticks all the boxes for a relaxing holiday, the thought and detail that is put into how well the Barn is equipped is stunning! Everything that you would ever need is there and a lot I bet that you didn’t know you did!! The view out of the massive windows from the bed in the morning is to die for and to wake to the sound of birds and the country makes for a wonderful start to your day. Our dog Madi thought she was in heaven as all we had to do was to take her across the bridge over the stream then she could have her morning run around the large field. The hosts Sue and Dave make you feel so at home with a well honed knack of giving you space and privacy but bein so friendly and there for you if you need them or just want a chat. I think I am making this all sound to good (which it is) just hope you all haven’t booked the Barn up so we can’t stay when we next want to visit!

We arrived to a warm welcome form Sue and the dogs, shown around and received a lovely welcome hamper. The barn was bigger than I expected from the photo's, the views and countryside stunning. We had the hens visit regularly every morning for their breakfast crumbs, our thankyou for their delicious eggs. Sue and Dave were the perfect hosts and nothing was to much trouble. We had a week of relaxation, pottering around the surrounding areas and enjoying the wood burner in the evenings, couldnt have wanted more! We will definitely be returning.
