Butlers flat is in a lovely area . It is close to Erddig NT Llangollen Chirk . The flat is very comfortable and welcoming and we also played darts in the shared games room.

Thank you for your lovely review, so glad you enjoyed your stay and made use of the games room! Property Owner

Hopefully on our next visit we can book the Cooks flat as I have been told is as equally as good as the Butlers flat

  • "Very good value for money."

Very helpful owner. The property served its purpose very well. Excellent access to all attractions we wanted to visit. Maybe a little TLC needed but nothing serious. Heating system excellent on a couple of cool days, so no need to light the fire. A pity the snooker table baize was damaged. Probably a careless previous user, and I'm sure it will be very expensive to repair. Beautiful grounds. More detailed walking routes around the grounds might have been a help but that's just nit-picking. Welcome pack very thoughtful. All round an enjoyable stay, and happy to recommend the property to anyone wanting a visit to this area.

  • "We had a lovely state at the Butler's Flat."

It's in a great location, with lots to visit nearby. The flat is well decorated and kitted out, with a good sized dining kitchen and huge bedroom. We really appreciated the smart TV, but would have liked to have a teapot. The one downside was the shower, which is fed off the bath taps. The shower head is at a fixed point high up the wall: if the user is a short person, she has to wash under a faint and pressureless trickle of tepid falling water.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. I'll look for the teapot as there should be one in there, if it's gone walkabout we will sort that out, thank you for pointing it out. Regarding the shower, it is a handheld shower attached to the bath and so not a stand alone power shower which perhaps you are used to. If you found the hook too high perhaps you would have had an easier time by just holding it in your hand? Or enjoying a luxurious bath! We use the same water supply in the main house and there is always plenty of hot water, generated by the wood chip boiler. So glad the smart TV was useful! Property Owner

  • "A lovely stay, thank you very much."

The grounds in particular are stunning. The flat was very clean and comfortable. The only suggestion I would make would be to provide a portable heater, or have the central heating turned up (if possible), given it was rather chilly in the flat, in particular the bedroom even with the thermostat turned up. Hope to visit it again soon!

Thanks for a lovely review! I’m sorry you were a bit cold! The radiators are individually controlled but I expect you worked that out. It was a very cold week when you were here so I hope you used the real fire too as that makes the flat very cosy. We do have portable heaters that you could have borrowed if needed so I wish you had asked us during your stay! Another time! Property Owner

  • "Stayed at Butler’s Flat for a relatively last minute 4 night break."

The flat was just as described and Cefn Park was a very peaceful location. Lovely light and airy accommodation, however, it was very cold - thankfully we were able to light the fire each day, which helped to warm the lounge but still very cold in the other rooms. Facilities were very good, kitchen well equipped, powerful shower and large screen tv and free view were very welcome. The WiFi was terrible - access was via ‘access point’, which links via a wired connection, making it very slow, dropping out frequently, especially when being used by several WiFi connections. The flat does need some tlc in places - the ‘pillows’ on the bed were just material filled with a few lumps, couldn’t be used! And the mattress topper wasn’t large enough for the bed so there was a big drop at the top. We had to use cushions for pillows! All in all an enjoyable break, easy booking, great value!

About the location

CEFN PARK ESTATE

Wrexham centre 2 miles; Chester 13 miles.

Situated in over 1000 acres of parkland, Cefn Park dates back to 1730, with the latest additions being built in 1910. Located on the edge of Wrexham, the largest town in North Wales, Cefn Park is also within driving distance of the historic city of Chester and many places of interest including Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, a World Heritage Site. Steeped in family history linking back to Charles II and containing many artefacts from the Charge of the Light Brigade, Cefn Park in 2011 was featured on national TV and in newspapers due to the restoration of the original Victorian kitchen that had last been used during the Second World War. Today guided tours of the estate, which include a visit to the Victorian kitchen, can be enjoyed. The town of Wrexham offers a number of shops, pubs and restaurants, whilst nearby are the National Trust owned Erddig and Chirk Castle, which are well worth a visit. Chester, situated just into England offers something for everyone. From the Roman walls and amphitheatre, the wonderful Tudor ‘Rows’ and the beautiful medieval church, to the racecourse, famous zoo and walks along the River Dee, Chester has it all. Back into Wales, the stunning Snowdonia National Park is within driving distance. An ideal location for exploring North Wales, Cheshire, Shropshire, or even the island of Anglesey.
