Berwick town centre is a 2 minute walk And another 20 minute walk (5 min bus journeyfrom the town centre) leads to Spittal village and it's glorious beach.

  • "Very nice stay but hot tap on bath impossible to turn off and could not open window in main bedroom."

we like fresh air. Apologies for leaving food but Salvation Army did not turn up when requested to remove surplus.

  • "Our stay was disappointing."

No mirror in the main bathroom, no bedside light/table in the second bedroom. Only 2 saucepans, both of which had non-stick so scratched as to be unsafe to use. Most of the glasses provided were difficult to fit into the dish washer No privacy in the lounge which at the moment is overlooked by a building site - a blind would be good.

Thanks Ainslie, I’ve taken time to consider your feedback, which is out of sync with that which I generally get, I’ll take your comments onboard where appropriate. Property Owner

The cottage suited our needs perfectly. Ideally located within the lovely town of Berwick-upon-Tweed and only a stones throw from the coastal path. Islestone Cottage is well equipped, clean and cosy. Would definitely return again.

  • "Superb location close to all the shops and amenities."

The property was well furnished with everything you might need. My only criticism of what was a very enjoyable holiday and positive experience was the lack of garden for our dog. However, a very enjoyable break.

The kitchen was uncommonly well provided and made you feel it really was a home from home! And the broadband and TV both worked well.

  • "We stayed at Islestone in June and were very glad to be back there in October / November."

It's warm, welcoming and a very well equipped property in a convenient location. The owner is very helpful. Berwick is a lovely town to visit and from there it's easy to reach so many other places in both Scotland and England. For instance, you can book a ScotRail ticket to Edinburgh at a bargain price. The journey is less than an hour, and Berwick Railway Station is a short walk from the property.

  • "Lovely house."

Excellent location. Very comfy bed.Owner was very helpful at recommending a garage when we had problems with our car. Thanks. Only reason marked it down on cleanliness was because the shower slipmat needed changing, otherwise everything else was perfect.

Thanks Debs. You are right, have changed the shower mat now - my fault - it should have been done earlier. Glad you had a good stay though. Anne Property Owner

  • "A very enjoyable experience, cosy, comfortable and very well equipped and an unexpected welcome gift!"

Easy access to all amenities, shops, pubs, restaurants and public transport. Great for sightseeing and walking along the river path. The only notable drawback being the garden which could easily be improved by the addition of a three foot fence and gate to the front section, thus making the garden enclosed and more dog friendly. We experienced several of the neighbours dogs wandering into the garden during our visit, whilst we’re dog friendly this was not relaxing due to us having our dogs with us. Overall highly recommended and we are most likely to book a return visit!
